Make plans now to enjoy and to help out with the Mantua Carnival. The theme for 2010 is "Mantua Celebrates the Olympics". Class games and booths will focus on Olympic-related themes. There will be the ever-popular cakewalk, a moon bounce, great raffle prizes, cotton candy, kettle corn, and more. You may bid on wonderful Baskets of Goodies or enjoy food at the Dining Hall in the cafeteria. ALSO, this year, for the first time ever, visit the DUNK TANK, and dunk some of your favorite teachers!!
And be sure to check out the great posters the kids have made -- they're all around the school!
The Carnival is a day of fun for the entire community. Bring the whole family and mingle with neighbors and friends.
Money raised at the carnival goes toward field trips, classroom equipment, and special enrichment activities for Mantua students. It takes an enormous number of volunteers to pull off this great event. We're counting on each family to contribute!

Volunteer Opportunities The Carnival needs many volunteers to make this a magical day for the students. Be sure to do your part by volunteering at your class booth and/or contributing to the class basket. Volunteers are always needed for set up and clean up, as well as to help sell tickets in the morning the week before the Carnival, as well as in the cafeteria. (Hint: there are some great opportunities for students who need community service hours here!) Tickets You and your kids will need tickets to play games and participate in activities. (Please note that food is cash only.) Make plans now to stop by the school to purchase your tickets at a lower price in advance. Tickets will also be available at the Carnival for the regular price. Prize Raffle Take a chance! You may win one of the big prizes donated by our generous local real estate agents and businesses! We also need help selling tickets before school and at the Carnival. Cake Decorating Contest and the Cakewalk Express your creativity! Adults and children can win prizes for theme-decorated cakes, and win cakes in the popular cake-walk. Anyone who participates in the cake decorating contest and doesn't win a prize will receive 6 free carnival tickets! Dining Hall Food & Concessions Please note that all food will be CASH ONLY. We will be serving authentic Carnival food, such as pizza, hamburgers & cheeseburgers, and hot dogs. We will also offer ice cream in the cafeteria, and the popular kettle corn wagon at the front entrance (weather permitting). Class Baskets Once again, each class will be contributing a beautiful theme basket, and all the baskets will be up for silent auction during the Carnival. The themes vary from scents, to books, to games, to gardening -- and on and on and on! Poster Contest Encourage your kids to participate in the annual poster contest, which celebrates the Carnival theme and activities, and advertises the Carnival throughout the school. Posters will be due to the front office by Monday, March 1. |
