Kids Care Club

BE a PART of SOMETHING SPECIAL

The core virtues of the Basic School are taught both by word and deed.
Through the curriculum, through the school climate, and through service,
students are encouraged to apply the lessons of the classroom to the world around them.

Mantua’s Kids Care Club was established in 1997 as part of the nationwide Kids Care Club, which now counts more 1,800 registered clubs around the world. The mission of the Mantua Kids Care Club is to help those less fortunate and encourage Mantua students to participate in community service activities.

The Kids Care Club is a voluntary organization open to all children in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Adult volunteers are more than welcome, too! We meet after school approximately once a month.

The Mantua Kids Care Club has planned the following events for the 2009-2010 school year, and is always open for suggestions for other community service projects:

Creating and hanging bird feeders around Mantua Elementary
Raking leaves for senior citizens in Mantua
Creating and maintaining garden(s) at Mantua Elementary
Assisting with the annual Roberta Romano Raccoon Run
Organizing various collection boxes throughout the year
PLUS MANY MORE FUN PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES!

If your children are interested in sharing their ideas for helping others or improving the school grounds, please send them to any/all of our events this school year. As a group, we will come up with future projects. It's a great way for the children to be involved and show that Mantua Kids really do care!
