Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia (a non-profit organization) offers a curriculum-based youth development program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grades. The goal of the program is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.The curriculum is delivered in 10-week sessions by Mantua volunteer coaches who have been trained by GOTR NOVA and culminates in a celebratory 5K running event. The program runs twice a year at Mantua - in both fall and spring - for girls in the 3rd through 6th grades. Classes are twice a week, either before or after school, determined prior to each session.
